Teaching Philosophy

My style of teaching is to make kids feel comfortable. I want students to know that they are cared for and valued in the class and for them to be able to express themselves freely. With kids feeling comfortable then they will be in a healthy environment that is best for them to learn in. For students with disabilities this is extra important. I will have a least restrictive environment (LRE) meaning that the students will do the bulk of their learning in normal classroom settings but then for the subjects that they need they will go off and work with either a specialist or a teacher one-on-one.
